Since MITTCO launched on World Steel Pan Day on August 11th, 2022, we have had a whirlwind year of celebrating the sweet sounds of our national instrument. Here are some of the high notes of 2022:
MITTCO strengthened its relationship with EU
EU Ambassador Mr. Peter Cavendish, a keen supporter of our culture, purchased the first steelpan from our factory. This marked the start of a fruitful marketing partnership between the EU Delegation in Trinidad and Tobago and MITTCO.

In November, MITTCO was delighted to host a factory tour for a Delegation of the Working Party on Latin America, and the Caribbean of the Council of the European Union (COLAC). COLAC serves as the advisory body (of 27 EU Member States) established to manage EU relations with countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Mr. Thomas Reyes Ortega, Chair of the Council Working Group, Latin America, Caribbean (COLAC) and Chair of the Council Working Party for Trans-Atlantic Relations (COTRA) remarked that MITTCO’s factory is a work of genius and acknowledged that its steelpans are a world-class product.

MITTCO joined the biggest party in sport: HERO CPL
Through our three-year sponsorship deal with the HERO Caribbean Premier League, our beloved MITTCO steelpan reached the hearts and homes of millions of cricket lovers in the Caribbean and around the world.
The blissful sounds of beautifully tuned MITTCO steelpans were broadcasted to over 500 million viewers worldwide, and our presence was felt in the stadiums through rapturous live performances from Ambassadors such as Johann Chuckaree, Joshua Regrello, and a host of other amazing Pannists.
It was a privilege to be the Official Musical Instrument of the biggest party in sport.
MITTCO gifted gold-plated steelpan to the President of Guyana
MITTCO’s first gold-plated Tenor pan was gifted to His Excellency President Dr. Irfaan Ali of Guyana by MITTCO’s Director – Business Development and Sales, Akua Leith at the CPL’s 10th -anniversary dinner and gala on September 23rd, 2022.

Steelpan Financing made easier: MITTCO partners with First Citizens Bank Limited
In December 2022, MITTCO forged an alliance with First Citizens Bank to make steelpan ownership easier for our customers. First Citizens is offering secure payment plans to customers wishing to purchase a steelpan so that a full upfront payment is not necessary. For the first time, T&T customers have the option to pay for steelpan instruments in installments over specific periods of time.
It is our hope that this new steelpan financing plan will make purchasing musical instruments more accessible to pan enthusiasts and steelpan orchestras alike.
